CNV 2025 BC Bee Atlas Report
City of North Vancouver 2025 BC Bee Atlas Data Report
Over the summer of 2025 the Native Bee Society of BC, in collaboration with the volunteer
Master Melittologists, surveyed for bees in the City of North Vancouver. Over 9 survey days
280 specimens from five families, 13 genera and 43 species were collected from 42 different
plant species. Four non-bee specimens were also collected on flowers. One species at risk,
Bombus flavidus Eversmann, 1852, was observed, as well as five non-native species. When
combined with work done in 2024, the total species list for the City of North Vancouver is
now 57 species, an increase of 16 species. A species checklist is provided, as well as details
on plant use by different bee families.
