Member Registration

Any person who supports the objectives of the NBSBC may become a member, as we welcome anyone who has an interest in native bee conservation in British Columbia!

Members will receive notice of every meeting of the society, are entitled to vote on society matters, can join and contribute to specialist subcommittees of the society, and will receive a quarterly newsletter with pertinent information on work being conducted to protect and promote native bee conservation in British Columbia.

There are five categories of membership:

  1. Regular member: a paid member of the Society;

  2. Honorary member: shall be granted to members who have made an outstanding contribution to native bee conservation and/or who have rendered outstanding service to the Society;

  3. Student member: regular paid members of the Society who are currently enrolled in a recognized post-secondary educational institution or intend to return to that institution;

  4. Youth member: may not vote or hold office, members who are primary or secondary school age and are currently in school or intend to return to school.

  5. Associate member: may not vote or hold office, and are limited to businesses, associations, and non-governmental organizations.

Membership fees are $25/year for regular members and $12.50 for student members. Youth membership is free. The membership year runs from January to December each year, and so your membership fee will include a membership from time of purchase until the end of December. Memberships purchased from September to December in any given year will be prorated to the end of the following year.

We don't want finances to be a barrier to anyone joining our society. Email with the subject line "Free Membership" to be added to our member list.
