About the Event
This Pollinator month, we’re raising $5,000 to support the identification of 2024 bee specimens collected through the BC Bee Atlas Program.
Our dedicated volunteers have already collected specimens from all six bee families in BC, covering 34 of the 42 genera, and sampled bees from more than 200 plant species—representing a truly remarkable snapshot of BC’s biodiversity. So far, we’ve identified 50% of these specimens, documenting more than 20% of the bee species known to occur in BC, but there’s still critical work to be done.
Your donations will directly fund the expert taxonomic work needed to complete these identifications, providing vital data on species distributions, phenology, and habitat needs.
Our members are hosting a diversity of fundraising events across the province to raise funds for the BC Bee Atlas - please click each event for more details!
Events are by donation to the NBSBC. Please visit our donation page to make your donation, and then select a ticket for the event of your choice!
