About the Event
Bees and Botany is happening Wednesday November 27th  at 7:00 PM.  This group is an opportunity for connecting and learning  about native bees and their interactions with host plants with others throughout the province. Experts and complete beginners  welcome!
Bees evolved with flowering plants and the life cycles of the plants are dependent on the matching phenology of bee activity. Let’s discuss how we could track floral phenology in BC and match it to the bees that pollinate these key flowers. Which key bee flowers in your area should we start tracking? What methods could we use?
Â
Choose one or more photos of flowers that would be good to represent seasonal bee forage in your area—spring, summer, fall . . . your choice! Some examples would be pussy willows in early spring and gumweed in late summer and fall.
