Join us for a family-friendly bee walk where you can learn to identify bees, their associated wildflowers and how to use iNaturalist!
Time & Location
Jul 28, 2024, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Strawberry Flats Trailhead, Strawberry Flats, British Columbia V0X 1R0, Canada
About the Event
We’re fortunate to have over 500 native bee species in British Columbia, including 30 species of bumble bees. We need bee spotters to photograph BC bees in parks and share them on iNaturalist. Get a chance to play BEE BINGO to identify common species and plants. We’ll provide BINGO cards and guide you through spotting and photographing bees.
Can't make this date? Join us at Blanket Creek august 4th! If you can't join us in person, print your own BINGO cards to do at a park near you.
Please dress in layers for the weather and avoid wearing heavily perfumed products. Pets tend to scare the bees away. Leave your pooch behind, please.
If the weather is unfavourable for bees, we look at the flowers bees love and we have some waterproof images to share.
