About the Event
This World Bee Day, the Native Bee Society of BC is launching the first-ever BC’s Favourite Bee campaign: a public vote celebrating the province’s extraordinary native bees while raising support for the BC Bee Atlas. Voting runs from World Bee Day, May 20, through Pollinator Week, with the winning bee crowned on June 28.
BC’s Favourite Bee invites the public to learn about, celebrate, and ultimately vote for one of five remarkable native bee candidates — each with its own champion, personality, and story.
The campaign also raises funds for the BC Bee Atlas, with donations matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000 by a generous supporter.
Each candidate bee will be represented by a champion — including naturalists, artists, authors, educators, community scientists and advocates — who will campaign on behalf of their favourite species throughout the voting period. Cast Your Vote! --> https://www.bcnativebees.org/bcfavbee2026
